
Well, this is more than just the gameplay itself, all the Super Sonic battles had legendary music, but this fight against the Titans is just way over the top, but in a extremely good senses, one of those titans has a fucking sword with a shield who can throw, while he slides like Jet Set radio on the field, that's fucking dumb, everyone knows is dumb, is the dumbest shit a Super Sonic boss has ever done, and yet. So how Sonic Frontiers fixed that? How Frontiers is capable of making a battle between a monster against GOD being entertaining? Why they made battles like that? Because Super Sonic is basically "god mode", he is the Super Saiyan form of Sonicverse, Sonic can fly, he can go even faster than his base form (The speed of sound, or even light), he CANNOT BE DAMAGED since he needs to run out of rings, he is basically unstoppable, unkillable, with a enormous strenght, and a stupid broken speed.

However, after Sonic started the modern era, seems like every final fight in the game needed to be Super Sonic Style (Or in games like Secret Rings, a new transformation who basically is Super Sonic but with another skin), and how this fights were? Sonic goes straight forward to the enemy, evading obstacles, and then attacking the enemy, the enemy goes back or pushes Sonic, and you need to repeat that like. Super Sonic in the classic games was only a "cheat code", you could use it anytime you wanted if you gather the 7 chaos emeralds, easy as that.
